The program, available through the National Association of Counties (NACo) and CVS Caremark, kicked off in March. The Prescription Discount Card is not insurance. Primary users of the card are people without prescription coverage, although persons with insurance might also benefit on prescriptions not covered by their current plan. Discounts have been averaging 24% across the country per NACo. There are over 60,000 participating pharmacies nationwide.

County residents are encouraged to pick up a discount card and begin saving money immediately. There is no enrollment process or any fees required to participate. Cards are available in English and Spanish at the Warren County Health Department, 104 W. Booneslick, Suite H, Warrenton, in the lower level of the county courthouse.  They are also available on line at www.caremark.com/naco. Program operated by CVS Caremark. This is NOT insurance.
